Visitors were high on the agenda as we began the fourth year of the East Lincs. Initiative on October 1st with a 'Sea and Share' weekend.

We in Skegness are so excited about what is happening and wanted the opportunity to share our experience with people from other churches in the Nazarene South District, many of whom have been praying for us and some of whom have supported us financially and with personal visits.

So we arranged a special rate with the County Hotel and invited people to spend a weekend with us in Skegness to 'Sea' and Share in what we are doing; to relax by the sea; visit local attractions, or explore the lovely Lincolnshire countryside on our doorstep. Some 30 people from different churches joined us from Friday 30th September 2011 till Sunday 2nd October for a weekend of worship, fellowship and relaxation. Visitors came from Cleethorpes, Sheffield, Kings Lynn, Thetford, Boston, and Keighly and together we celebrated with thanks our experience of planting a new Church here in Skegness.

Some of us joined our visitors for the evening meal on Friday and on Saturday. During the day on Saturday most of our guests took the opportunity to look around town and further afield and then joined us for Praise Service on Saturday evening. We gathered again on Sunday morning for our Worship Celebration which was followed by a buffet lunch provided by the Hotel. At both times of worship people gave testimony of the work and we invited our guests to respond, which many did.

It was good to meet new people and to renew acquaintances. The weather was excellent and this added to the great sense of enjoyment and satisfaction that we all experienced.

We hope to make this an annual gathering and have already made a provisional booking for Friday 28th September through to Sunday 30th September 2012. The good news is that the room rate is being held at the same rate as last year, £37 per person per night For dinner, bed and breakfast. Details will be circulated to the various churches and posted on the web site shortly but if you would like to book please don't hesitate as we are expecting a bigger response this year!
